The Bushmen hunter-gatherers, also called San people, lived on these mountain slopes from about 8000 years ago until the mid 1800's, and left behind them a priceless legacy of rock art in the caves and overhangs. These ancient paintings tell the story of their stone age culture, rituals and spiritual beliefs.
